"All the parking space projects are at different stages and construction for some of them have already begun," said an Authority official.
Officials said that the UP state environment impact assessment authority (SEIAA) has also given the green signal to a multi-level car parking facility to be built on Dadri-Surjapur-Chhalera (DSC) road at Botanical Garden in Sector 38A. The Authority has already approved the final design of the facility.
"We have sent the project details to IIT Delhi for the approval. The chief architect and planner (CAP) of Noida Authority has approved the design. Work will begin soon," said a senior Noida Authority official.
The Authority has also approved the design of another parking facility with a capacity of 1,400 vehicles to be built in Film City in Sector 16A. It has sent a completed Detailed Project Report for the proposed parking lot and other redevelopment work at Sector 18 market to IIT Delhi for approval of the design. "Soon, the Authority will initiate tender proceedings to begin work for the long delayed project," the official said.
In August last year, the Authority had appointed the Delhi School of Planning and Architecture as its consultant for the redevelopment project and had also finalized the design details for the eight-storey parking lot with a budget of Rs 165 crore.
A multi-level parking lot for 4,000 vehicles will also be constructed near the Radisson Blu Hotel. According to the DPR, two levels of the parking lot will be underground. The top-most level will also have an open terrace with landscaping that will have a coffee shop.
DEVELOPERS BOUND BY LEASE DEED
Two developers have been directed by the Authority to build multi-level parking facilities at the City Center and Sector 15 Metro stations. Bound to a lease deed agreement, the developers will have to construct these spaces using their own funds. The former, the last stop on the Metro line between Noida and Dwarka, is where a large number of commuters park their vehicles.
"When the Noida Authority had entered in the agreement with the DMRC, the Authority had promised - in writing - to develop parking at Wave City Center Noida, which is Noida's largest mixed land use project. According to the lease deed, Wave has to develop the parking space for more than 2,500 vehicles near City Center Metro station. The design has been finalized and we have asked the developer to speed up the work. The parking space at City Center will also help accommodate parking for the Golf Course station," said Manoj Rai, Noida Authority OSD.
"Another developer will have to create the facility for 500 vehicles at the Sector 15 Metro station. Both developers will create the facilities and hand it over to the DMRC, which will manage the operations," Rai added.
